Global Tower Partners Closes on Mesa Communications Group’s Assets
Acquisition Provides GTP with Highly Strategic Northeast Portfolio
BOCA RATON, FL, November 1 – Global Tower Partners (“GTP”)
today announced the definitive
closing of certain wireless communication tower assets from Mesa Communications
Group (“Mesa”). The Mesa tower acquisition will contribute 222 towers (78 of the
towers located in the State of Maine) and 117 developmental sites in the State of
Maine to GTP’s rapidly growing national tower portfolio.
"The Mesa acquisition solidifies our expansion that we started earlier this year
into the Northeast portion of the United States," said Marc C. Ganzi, Chief Executive Officer,
Global Tower Partners.
“The Mesa management team has done an excellent
job through the years of developing
and operating highly strategic tower locations
and we are very pleased to add these assets to our portfolio.”
“We are proud of the strong regional clusters of towers developed by Mesa,
and believe that GTP is well positioned to move the development program forward in the State
of Maine. Additionally, we found GTP to be a team of highly professional managers
who were enjoyable to work with on this transaction” said Michael Williams, President
of Mesa Communications.
"The Mesa portfolio is highly unique and represents a great complement to our existing core markets”
said Terry Armant, Senior Vice President of Development, Global Tower Partners.
"Furthermore, we are firmly committed to finishing the great work that
Mesa started in the State of Maine and look forward to helping our customers address their rapidly growing coverage
needs in this part of the country."
Post the closing of the Mesa acquisition, GTP will own, manage and master lease some 7,200 sites throughout the United States, including 1,800
owned communications towers. The transaction closed on October 28, 2005. Mesa was represented by the
Media & Communications Group of TD Securities (USA) LLC in the transaction.
As privately held entities, GTP and Mesa consider the terms and conditions of the
definitive agreements proprietary.
