Senior Accountant

Purpose: 

Responsible for assigned areas of financial process and statements.

Job Functions:

1. Plan and execute to meet monthly deadlines for month-end closing of financial statements
2. Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and other packages for investors, lenders and management
3. Assist in the regular account analysis and reconciliation
4. Research GAAP and other accounting questions
5. Identify patterns of weakness or exposure to error, diagnose the issues, design and implement process improvements to address weaknesses or other opportunities
6. Collaborate closely with other accounting departments, and other company departments
7. Collaborate on ad-hoc or recurring project teams to prepare various analysis for enhancement of the business

Working Conditions and Physical Demands: 

Position will work directly from the corporate office.  Candidate must have the flexibility to occasionally work overtime, including weekends. 

Qualifications:

1. Must have a 4 year college degree in Accounting.  CPA preferred.
2. At least 5 - 7 years of total work experience
3. Prefer big 4 background with at least 3 years industry experience
4. Prefer experience with Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and FRx reporting software
5. Prefer real estate experience with high volume contractual business with recurring revenue
6. Strong working knowledge of financial accounting
7. Strong working knowledge of Excel, Pivot Tables, Word and PowerPoint
8. Familiarity with auditing requirements and approach
9. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth changing environment
10. Ability to balance need for discipline with flexibility
11. Ability to identify "what matters" or makes a difference
12. Team-oriented, and self motivated, inquisitive
13. Interest & knowledge of how overall business works - operations, financing etc
14. Analytical and critical thinking skills
