Addition Boosts GTP's Focus on Growth in the Region
BOCA RATON, FL - June 22, 2011 - Global Tower Partners ("GTP") announced today it has hired Jose Sola as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Latin America. He will report directly to GTP's CEO, Marc Ganzi.
In his role as the driver of new cell tower development in Latin America, Sola brings over 17 years of experience in the Latin America telecommunications industry with responsibilities for mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, and strategic planning. Sola will drive the company's relationships with its wireless carrier partners and merger and acquisition activities in the Latin America region.
"Jose's strong background and great reputation, together with his extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry's needs in Latin America, make him the best choice to lead this crucial area for GTP," said Ganzi. "His wealth of experience in mergers and acquisitions is a valued asset in our efforts to accelerate GTP's growth in this region."
Most recently, Sola held various management and executive positions with Telefonica, including Investor Relations Manager, Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, and Vice President of Corporate Development, and was instrumental in the international expansion of Telefonica across Latin America. He has participated in transactions totaling more than $10 billion as well as the acquisition of Bell South's wireless companies in 10 countries in the region.
Prior to joining Telefonica Mr. Sola worked in the international division of ENDESA, the largest Spanish utility company, performing financial due diligence of acquisitions in Portugal.
